Peter Cochran

Chair

With ancestry in Snowy Mountains spanning more than 160 years, Peter Cochran brings a passion for the heritage of the region to the Board. As principal of Cochran Horse Treks, Peter is active in developing unique experiences in the wilderness, growing the visitor economy of the whole region and in addressing community issues. He is a former Mayor of Cooma-Monaro Shire Council and member of New South Wales Legislative Assembly. Peter actively represents the interests of the region’s Chambers of Commerce.

Wayne Kirkpatrick

Deputy Chair & Treasurer

A former Director of Tourism Australia and Tourism Tasmania, Wayne has also held Managing Director roles at Thredbo, Mirage Resorts, Ayers Rock Resort and Hamilton Island. Wayne runs his own corporate advisory company based in Thredbo.

Stuart Diver

Director – Major Stakeholder Appointee

Stuart is indelibly linked with the Snowy Mountains as the survivor of the Thredbo landslide in 1997. He has now gone on a senior position as the resort’s Operations Manager. Stuart has been a strong advocate for tourism throughout his more than three decades in the mountains, particularly with helping to establish Thredbo as a premier year-round destination. Stuart has worked extensively in setting up the fantastic mountain bike trail network that now exists in Thredbo and on the Thredbo Valley Track. He has a Bachelor of Applied Science, is also a level three ski instructor.

Bruce Marshall

Director – Membership / Small Business Appointee

Bruce has extensive tourism interests and assets in the Snowy Mountains region and across Australia. Owner of premier resort Lake Crackenback Resort & Spa, Bruce brings a wealth of experience to the TSM Board and is passionate about developing non-winter products and activities in the region.

Nolen Oayda

Director – Membership / Small Business Appointee

Nolen is a long-time resident of the Snowy Mountains with experience that spans events management, business development, marketing consultancy and other management positions in tourism businesses. Nolen is owner of Snowy Mountains Cookies, a ‘born and bred’ business in the region.

Bob Stewart

Director – Shire Councils Appointee

As GM of Tumut Shire Council, Bob has extensive knowledge of government at all levels and the role of tourism in the four local government areas that TSM represents.

Heath Woolley

Public Officer & Secretary. Director – Snowy Hydro Appointee

With almost 20 years experience in management roles within the tourism industry, Heath is currently Manager, Snowy Hydro Visitor Centres, where he is responsible for locations at Cooma, Cabramurra and Khancoban. His experience also includes seven years with Tourism Western Australia where Heath managed Western Australian Visitor Centres. Additionally, Heath was a committee member of the Visitor Centre Association of WA.

Mick Pettitt

Non-Voting Director – NPWS appointee

Mick is the Regional Manager of the Southern Ranges Region. Mick’s role with NPWS is extensive, the region he manages covers the Snowy Mountains Region, which includes the Kosciuszko National Park. Mick’s knowledge of eco-tourism is broad and he is a vital member of the TSM Board as tourism strategies are developed in consultation with NPWS.

Candace Torres

Non-Voting Permanent Invitee – Destination NSW

Candace is the In-Land Zone Manager with Destination NSW. Her role on the Board is one of observer.

Neil Thew

Executive Officer

Neil, a long term Jindabyne resident, has Bachelor of Arts and Master of Marketing Communication degrees. Neil also has a diverse background including hotel and accommodation management, sales management, business services, and, was Managing Director of a snow sport clothing company that operated in both the Snowy Mountains and Colorado, USA. Just prior to TSM, Neil held media, PR and Business Development management roles with Perisher; so he has a unique background in both tourism, small business and major resort management and marketing.

Jacqui Percy

Administration Manager

With a background in small business management in Australia and North America, Jacqui joined Tourism Snowy Mountains in May 2012. Immediately prior to her arrival in Snowy Mountains, she was Department Supervisor of Schwarzkopf Professional (a division of Henkel Australia) where she managed national customer relations, trade education, seminars and events program, and technical hotline.
